Terminator Armour and You.
Alright guys just a disclaimer first. I don't even mind the way DoW3 is going it's a game and I don't expect it to be anywhere near as good as the table top game or even similar. The table top game is something I have spent years of my time and money on collecting and painting my various armies.
I gotta get in here and set some things straight really fast. I am becoming increasingly overwhelmed by the amount of people who have been picking up this game playing it for a day or two and then coming online and trying to convince the world they know EVERYTHING about 40k now.
I really need to address the elephant in the room here. TERMINATORS.
Here are some examples of what I am talking about.
'Both DoW 1 and 2 had an ability that made all your units literally impossible to kill unless you took out the unit who used that ability (I think it was the Librarian in DoW 1, and the Lord Commissar in 2).
I think Angelos swinging his hammer really fast is not that much of a stretch.'
'Invulnerability almost fits in the lore, 40k lore is really over the top. It's hard to call a mechanic out as not fitting the lore because the lore is really out there.'
'to be fair, its because they have a massive power pack on their back that makes the armor like a second skin. it probably barely weighs anything to the marine.'
I have read EVERY 40k book written to date. I didn't read these novels throughout my entire life to have people like the ones above spew out such nonsense. I have to clear these up here and now because I have suffered far too much retcon at the hands of imaginative children as it stands. That filthy heretic Matt Ward, destroyer of fluff.
Now the 1st comment isn't all that bad but it is a slippery slope to referring to the lore as being this games staple. I only post it as an example of how it leads to thinking like the next comment if one is not careful.

THIS IS JUST ♥♥♥♥ING HERESY ON THE MOST HIGHEST ORDER. THIS LINE OF THINKING IS WHAT LED MY BELOVED GREY KNIGHTS AND SISTERS TO BE SLAUGHTERED AT THE HANDS OF MAN BABY WITH A RED PEN.
Ahmen.. Now we have the third example.

Not as heretical as the second one but this is just stupid. This person either has NO IDEA what they are talking about or they misread a wiki page / is purposely being vague enough to misuse w.e info he found on said wiki to portray what he wants.
Pretty much just delusional thinking for the third example.
Now if I can set some things straight terminators are very very slow and immobile units in the LORE. None of them have the ability to do what we see Angelos do in the game. Short of a prime-arch. Not one terminator has ever been portrayed to have been leaping or dancing around the battlefield wearing a second skin that weighs next to nothing.
If anyone here would like a GREAT series to begin getting a better understanding of what terminators are in the LORE.
Please go and read the Tome of Fire series. If you are super lazy or can't read listen to the audio drama Fireborn.
To end off I just want to say again the game looks alright I am excited to try it, the changes are on Relic for doing whatever they want which is fine it is a game it is not suppose to have the exact same play and feel as the table top game. I can stretch this to the lore as well. I can not however accept people translating these things to the fluff of 40k the lore as fact and then eventually twist my beloved table top game. THIS HAS HAPPENED BEFORE refer to Matt Ward on google.
(The table top games rules almost perfectly fit the lore IMO aside from a few instances and you can blame....guess who! for that again)
